The just signed and agreed deal has effectively created an Executive Prime minister post and 2 deputy prime ministers.
This is the structure of the deal
Cabinet
President
Executive PM
2 Deputy Prime Ministers
Vice President
Ministers
The Prime minister will supervise and co-ordinate all ministers, He can only be fired by a majority in Parliament through a vote of no confidence.
The president will still retain much of the powers he has, but he is unable to fire Cabinet ministers without the approval of the party coalition leader.Meaning that Kibaki cannot fire any of the ODM appointees.
The Cabinet slots will be shared according to party strength in parliament. In this case it will be a 50-50 deal.
The coalition will collapse at the end of the sitting parliament or if the parties so agree,or if one party withdraws.
Other details of the agreement have not been divulged yet eg, What happens if the coalition collapses, the roles of the deputy PM's and how the deal will be made law, through a constitutional amendment or through an act of parliament.

The full text of the agreement is on my blog (www.aaarrrggg.wordpress.com)
It seems to me that the post will be retained after 2012 but the coalition, this particular constellation of people in power, will disolve. At least thats what I hope happens.
But what happens if the coalition collapses before 2012?new elections?
